Rideau Street Mural
Looking In, Looking Out

Images from the Mural Dedication Ceremony on November 6, 2009.

On November 6, 2009, SHCHC hosted a dedication ceremony highlighting the creative talent that went into completing the visually stunning mural on Rideau Street. This mural is a testament to the vision of the Centre, and it stands as a symbolic window into our community and as a reminder of the changing faces of our community and clients we serve. Just as we invite clients to look inside to discover who they are, we also seek opportunities to connect with the community around us. As Shaun McInnis, the artist commissioned to paint the mural, stated: “I’ve seen murals bring people together. They don’t solve all of a neighborhood’s problems, but they can bring new life and energy to the people who live there. They can be a catalyst for change”.

We were privileged with the presence of Hon. Mauril Bélanger, MP for Ottawa-Vanier, Hon. Madeleine Meilleur, MPP for Ottawa-Vanier, and present and former members of the Board.
