The strength of Sandy Hill Community Health Centre comes in our connections with the local community. Working collaboratively with clients of the centre and residents of Sandy Hill and Old Ottawa East, we strive to create programs and initiatives that meet the needs of our residents and service users.
We have several ongoing and short term initiatives that rely on the strength and participation of community members. The purpose of these programs is to bring members of our community together in a safe and welcoming environment to address issues that are of common concern. We assist our community with projects that foster democratic processes, social and economic justice, respect and care for the life of the community, and environmental integrity.
Staff at Sandy Hill Community Health Centre seek to work with the community not just to identify problems and needs, but to also highlight the strength and vibrancy of our local people. We strive to work with our local communities to develop innovative strategies for addressing issues that affect the health of our neighbourhoods. We work to create a context where people feel inspired to work for positive change.
